Reason #7 to Be Happy: Why and The Tiny Bee Giveaway!

It's Wednesday! The best day EVER! Well, maybe not but that doesn't mean that it can't be a good day. :)

I have another giveaway to begin today but first I want to tell you a little story. I want to tell you a little about why I have decided to start blogging. Hopefully you already know that it's because I want to help you to be happy. But, there is a little more to it than that. That is, my personal drive behind blogging.

Ever since I was about 12 years old I have battled with depression and anxiety. It's not really my favorite thing to shout out to the world. However, I want you to understand me a little more so that we can really connect.

As I have dealt with these things I have learned a simple but really important concept. Have you ever heard the saying that not every day is a good day but that every day has a good part? I strongly believe that there is something good to be found in every single day. It has taken me years to learn that. It is still something that I have to work on at times. But, because I know this is true it is something that I want to share with others.

This morning I found a great quote on pinterest. I love pinterest. :)

This pretty much sums it up. I encourage you to find the smaller things to be happy about. After all, in the long run, it is the small things that make up the big things. Please share your reasons to be happy with me and with others! We may be very different from each other but we all want to be happy. :)

Reason #6 to Be Happy: Your Happy Place

Hello friends! So you know how when you go to the doctor or dentist or whatever they tell you to go to your happy place? Well, I want to talk about my happy place today. Luckily, there won't be any pain to go along with it this time!There's one reason to smile! :)

 My husband, Brad and I went on our honeymoon to Oahu. We went in November when things were starting to get cold and unpleasant where we live. I had been to Hawaii before but it was even better with my best friend. We were there over Thanksgiving. Instead of having turkey (which I wouldn't have had anyway since I'm a vegetarian)we had pineapple! I thought it was a great trade!

We are both really easy going so it was nice to have such a relaxing holiday. Hardly a day goes by that we don't talk about Hawaii in some way. We are always talking about how our dream house in Hawaii will be someday, what we would do to live in Hawaii, how people we know who moved here from Hawaii are slightly crazy, and lots of other Hawaii related things. 

Our happy place is really wherever we are together. But, Hawaii is what I consider our happy place. 

Now, I have a question for you! What/where is your happy place??

Reason to Be Happy #5: Clorox and Ranae

Happy day everyone! So, I know that my blog post has the strangest name again. But, if you know me you know that I don't claim to be completely normal. In fact, I think being a little weird makes someone much more interesting.

Anyway, one thing that I have learned in my eight months being married is that I am less domestic than I thought. I always thought I would like cooking and not mind cleaning. But, honestly, there are usually things that I would much rather do. Okay, let's be honest. About 99% of the time I would rather be doing something other than cooking or cleaning. If cookies, brownies, and baked treats were good meals then I would be super domestic. Unfortunately, they are not. I also believe that my wonderful husband deserves a good dinner. 

My point is that I am grateful for things that make the chores of a wife a lot easier. Today I had to clean our bathrooms. It was not an option. I am creative and live with clutter. But, I can only handle so much. When things get to a certain point I am done and they are no longer okay the way that they are. That is where clorox comes in. I can not explain how much I love clorox wipes. Just about every single time I clean anything I use them. It is one of those items that is permanent on our Costco shopping list. 

Oh, how I love those colorful plastic containers. Do you have favorite things that make life a little easier for you? I would love to know!

Now for the second part of today's blog post, Ranae. Those of you who don't know who Ranae Christine is you should. She is becoming one of my favorite blog people. She is hilarious and great! You can check out her site at http://richmombusiness.com/

Reason to Be Happy #3: Cute Etsy Shops

Hello! It's Friday again and time for me to give you a few more reasons to be happy!

I don't know about you but I love to shop. I especially love shopping at little boutiques or other unique places. The only thing better than shopping is being able to hang out with my husband, drink an ice cold Diet Coke, and relax at home while shopping. Etsy is a perfect place to do this.

Reason to Be Happy #2: Fruit and Minions

Could I have come up with a stranger blog post title? I doubt it!

So, it's Wednesday. I'm sure you woke up wanting to jump for joy. It's the middle of the week! That's the best thing ever, right? Okay, maybe not. But, I am here to give you a few reasons to smile.

First, fruit. Not just fruit but delicious strawberries, raspberries, and bananas with cool whip, cottage cheese, and jello powder. Seriously! That's it! It's that simple. My husband and I had this with dinner last night. It took less than ten minutes to throw together and I had to stop myself from eating the whole bowl. (I finished it for lunch today.) ha ha :)

I found this recipe on pinterest. It's an awesome recipe from My Recipe Magic. I definitely recommend trying it. I would have shared it with you but... I ate it all.

Their recipe actually doesn't call for raspberries but raspberries and my favorite so I thought, "Why not?" We also bought lite cool whip to make it a little healthier.

Reason to Be Happy #1: Craft Swap

I changed my blog name! I know! I know! It's the second post and I already changed it. Well, here is why... I don't really want to be blogging about my etsy shop all of the time. It's super fun but there is more to life. I want to share with you what makes me smile. Every Friday I am going to post about something that has recently made me super happy. Hopefully it will make you happy too! That way every Saturday we will both have at least one thing to smile about.

So, a while ago I started following +Linda Gardner from Craftaholics Anonymous on Pinterest. I actually can't remember how I heard about her. I think was through another awesome blogger. Anyway, I found out that she does an awesome craft swap twice a year. Of course, I HAD to join. I'm glad that I did! First, I want to show you what my awesome new friend, Kathy, at mylittlegirlscloset.blogspot.com gave me! I was super excited about this!



Seriously, this lady is awesome! She gave me three pairs of earrings, two necklaces, four hair clips, AND a super cute salmon chevron infinity scarf! I am wearing the scarf and one of the hair clips as I write this. I love all of it. She did an amazing job.

Hello World!

So I really have no idea how I'm supposed to do this. So, I have decided that I'm just going to write like me. If people want to read it then awesome if not... well that's just too bad. I mean that in the nicest way possible. But, really. I want people to know that there is a real face and even a real person with personality behind my business. I am Maddie Rose and this is my blog.
